Hopefully, someday I'll be able to use it. I only ask for this through amazon because it comes free with the cellphone I bought.
Because the pricing is a bit of a mystery, I did not feel comfortable using the product. I have no desire to enter my credit card information to activate the card. I really just wanted to try it (use the built in $10) and if I liked it then sign up.
in a pinch, i might consider using it. .i havent used it, primarily because the per minute charges are too high. i would rather buy a sim card wherever i land.
If entitled to a free usage offer via Amazon, simply mention it in the comments section of the sign up page. Mobal has been in business a long time, they provide literature that clearly describes its advantages while obviously downplaying the high rates. No fees, no expiration, no added taxes, no anything.
It's an extremely high per minute rate in exchange for brilliant simplicity and ease of use. It's not rocket science: Clearly listed per minute rate X minutes used. Use the Phone/SIM one time in three years and the total cost is that one time phone use.
This product has clearly listed per minute rates. Immediately after my credit card was approved, I could make a call from home and then travel 10000 miles away and also make a call. That's it.
SIM works in 140+ countries, immediately after sign up. The credit should then be shown within the account details.
Make sure this is for you before counting on it. Second, check the rates: in my case, it turns out that my home SIM card international roaming rates are CHEAPER than Mobal. Let the buyer beware. Mobal is supposedly an "international" SIM card, but note: you must be a resident of the US, Canada or the UK to use it, and must give a US, Canada or UK credit card number to use the pre-paid portion of the card. NOTE: the Mobal email support took several email exchanges to clarify the situation completely, but they were quite fast on turnaround. maybe I missed it, but I am stuck back home, no SIM card because I thought this card would work. This info may be there. Two points: Even though the Amazon offer made the Mobal SIM card "free", it ended up costing hours of frustrated attempts, lost time, and other missed opportunities since I did not take advantage of buying a different SIM card at the time.
